Meet Our Donors

On behalf of Brewster Academy, we would like to thank all of our current donors for their generosity and support. Here are some of their stories.

Jenifer L. Feldman ’91

"Brewster changed my life and I was very lucky to have been given that chance by my parents. When I look back at who I was when I came to Wolfeboro, I realize that I don't know where I would have ended up without my experiences at Brewster. One of the most significant experiences for me was being a member of the Debate Society — as a result of my participation in that group, I finally understood that I was capable and bright and independent. Talk about an ego boost! Debate is kind of like sports for the brain."

"I owe so much of my self-esteem and overall development to the school and to the faculty. I hope that anything I can do for Brewster Academy will help another student the way I was helped. What a fabulous way to give something back to a school that did so much for me. It gives me great pleasure to do what I can."

Erik Jones ’93

"My years at Brewster were important ones in many ways. Not only were they some of the most fun and carefree in my life thus far, but they were also a period of personal growth and achievement. The instruction and guidance I received at Brewster from my teachers and administrators ensured me success in later endeavors, including but certainly not limited to, college.

Recognizing that a strong endowment allows schools to hire high quality teachers like those who influenced me, I have chosen to remember Brewster in my estate planning. It is my hope that through my support, and the support of others, future students will be exposed to the level of teaching and caring that I received while at Brewster.

Rebecca Senior Kilts ‘60

Every year I get a bit nostalgic when September rolls around, and with it, the start of school. Many fond memories of my two years at Brewster come rushing back to me. It’s because of this that I have chosen to remember Brewster Academy in my estate planning. Excellent teachers, reasonable class size, abundant activities, along with school and community atmosphere all combined to make those years the best of my life educationally.

Ethel Clow Black ’23

My connection to Brewster Academy dates back to the late 1800's when my grandfather, Stephen W. Clow, attended Wolfeborough and Tuftonborough Academy. Ever since then we have had many Clows in the Brewster records: my dad, Fred, graduated in 1900; aunts Alma and Florence, both '03; my sister, Mildred '25; brothers Skip '27 and John '30; and my daughters Paula '50 and Mary '51 and many Clow cousins all attended Brewster as well. I have lived in Wolfeboro since I returned in 1932 with my husband Paul Dye who was Chief of Surgery at Huggins Hospital and have been proud to be associated with the Academy. I feel it is important to stay current with Brewster throughout the year, not only with my classmates and friends from the Academy, but with the programs at the school today.

For many years I have served as a volunteer for Huggins Hospital, my church, and Brewster Academy. My will is an extension of my life's goals — supporting those organizations which I feel have had a significant impact on my life, and the life of my family. I am proud to include Brewster Academy in my will and feel confident that my bequest will help the Academy's leadership prepare and provide students with the necessary resources for the world of study and work through creative and stimulating teaching and learning.

John P. Yacavone
(Alan ’84)

Upon my son’s graduation, I made Brewster Academy the beneficiary of a life insurance policy as a small token of my appreciation for providing my son an excellent atmosphere in which to learn and grown academically and socially. I hope that in some way it will help others to benefit as Alan did.
